Mini Windowpane Test
The purpose of this experiment is to visualize gluten development stages#
Mix 1/2 cup flour with 1/4 cup water to form a dough
Take a small piece and try the windowpane test (stretch it to see if it forms a thin membrane)
Knead the remaining dough for 2 minutes and test again
Knead for another 3 minutes and test once more
You'll see how the dough progressively develops from tearing easily to forming a translucent "windowpane" when properly developed.
